Which Elder Sign, I’m a Chuthlu Newb: The one that looks like a wonky star with a fire eye in the middle, or the one that looks like a stick with 5 branches?
I drew the star with the eye in the middle, which was created by the author August Derleth. The stick with five branches is from an illustration in a letter from Lovecraft to another author, so technically the stick with five branches is the original, but not as popular as the star with the eye. Both are described as defenses against the Deep Ones or the Outer Gods.
